Joint Municipal Workshop Regarding U.S. Route 1
Monday, November 14, 2011 - 6:00-8:00 p.m.  at
Chapin Hall  Chewonki Foundation Campus  485 Chewonki Neck Road Wiscasset, Maine
The Boards of Selectmen of the Towns of Wiscasset and Edgecomb, along with staff from the Maine Department of Transportation will hold a joint workshop on November 14, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The workshop is to establish a joint vision and goals for U.S. Route 1 in the two communities. Participants will also discuss the criteria, timeline and process to be used to identify, evaluate and select feasible non-bypass strategies to address traffic concerns. Accommodations will be made for persons with disabilities and auxiliary aids will be provided upon advance request. Inquiries may be directed to:

15 December 2010. Wednesday.  The MDOT is reconvening its Wiscasset By-Pass Task Force to reconsider By-Pass routes after the recent cancellation of Route N8C due to the presence of an eagle nest.

9 November 2010 PUBLIC MEETING TO PRESENT IMPROVE THE CURRENT ROUTE 1 OPTION (IMPROCURE1) ON 9 NOVEMBER IN LINCOLN COUNTY COMM. BLDG AT 7:00 P.M..

26 Oct. 2010, Tuesday. Meeting of R.O.A.D., 7: 00 p.m. at the Lincoln County Communications Center, Wiscasset (between the courthouse and the Sheriff's offices..  The meeting will focus on the upcoming Public Meeting to present to the public the R.O.A.D. options to Improve the Currency Route 1 (IMPROCURE1).

28 Sept. 2010, Tuesday. Meeting of R.O.A.D., 7: 00 p.m. at the Lincoln County Communications Center, Wiscasset (between the courthouse and the Sheriff's offices..  The meeting will focus on the upcoming efforts to persuade Wiscasset, the State of Maine and the Federal Government to examine the feasibility of "Improving the Route."  "Two Visions of Wiscasset" - one with a By-Pass and one with an improved downtown will be presented.

24 August 2010.   Tuesday. Meeting of R.O.A.D., 7: 00 p.m. at the Lincoln County Communications Center.

27 July 2010, Tuesday. Meeting of R.O.A.D., 7: 00 p.m. at the Lincoln County Communications Center, Wiscasset (between the courthouse and the Sheriff's offices..  How to stop the "Double-Gas By-Pass" and persuade officials to "Improve the Route" i.e. improve the flow of traffic in the existing Route 1 corridor.

29 June 2010. Meeting of R.O.A.D.  Voted overwhelmingly to support the improvement of the interchange at Route 1/Route27 in Edgecomb.  There was discussion of the need for Red's Eats to relocate, and how that could be a "win-win" for Red's Eats, the Town of Wiscasset and for Route 1 traffic flow.  One option is to move to the Wiscasset Hardware building and another is to move to Davis Island, with both options having views of the Sheepscot.
